Phil Peters: Intern |
I'm an intern at the Pont Aven School of Contemporary Art. Living in France is a pretty good gig. Eat, sleep, paint, and try not to mix the three. This is my story... |
The life of an art-intern can be summed up by the following. I ran out of paper towels a ways back and today had to dry my strawberries on toilet paper. ”la bohémia, la bohémia…”
My living room window looks out at the faculty studios across the street. The other day someone fired up the Intern-Signal!
Today I learned how to weld. I feel like a god!
If for me chairs are a metaphor for the body, then desks are my metaphor for the mind.
What’s in my pockets after a long day: 2 hand drawn diagrams, field notes, 5 euros, headphones, coins (for coffee and late night soda), intern-keys, jump drive, chapstick, offiial intern pen, pencil, folding razor blade, retractable razor blade, iPhone (not seen)
I think I kinda like this. It’s possible that I really like this! But I’m not going to commit to that…
I know one thing for sure: If you’re an artist who wants his/her own website, but can’t get it together, why not start here?
New Official Intern Pen
Intern-itative. Okay that’s a stretch. But this is the kind of industriousness we like to see in interns, Rainbow is putting together a special exhibition:
Use something old, something blue, something borrowed - sky is the limit as long as it can be mailed! (Sorry, but I cannot accept video work etc. for I do not have the equipment-tragic, I know!)
Why: Because it would be super awesome, and good for your resume’s too!
Who: All artist!
When: ALL WORKS MUST BE MAILED BY MARCH 15TH!
It may take up to two weeks to receive, and works go up April 1st! That gives you two weeks to make it happen!
How: Send me a piece of Mail Art - Whatever that may entail to:
